At Karate Mount Hawthorn, we cater to all levels, helping students develop skills, confidence, and discipline as they progress in their martial arts journey.
Beginners start with the fundamentals of karate, learning essential movements, stances, and strikes. Our instructors focus on building a strong foundation, developing confidence, coordination, and technique to support future growth.
Intermediate students refine their techniques and take on more advanced drills. These classes emphasise speed, agility, and precision, introducing complex kata and controlled sparring to build skill and confidence.
Advanced students work on mastering intricate techniques, developing strategic thinking in sparring, and refining kata performance. These sessions challenge students to push their limits, sharpen their skills, and deepen their understanding of karate.
At the Shotokan Karate Club, we offer structured classes for different age groups to help students build skills, confidence, and discipline at their own pace.
Our Peewee program is designed for young beginners. Children aged 6-7 participate in the first 30 minutes of the children’s class, gradually working towards completing the full one-hour session. These classes introduce fundamental karate techniques in a fun and supportive environment, helping kids develop coordination, confidence, and self-discipline.
Juniors (ages 8-12) take part in the full children’s class and are expected to train at least twice a week. These sessions build on foundational skills while introducing more advanced techniques and training routines. Our instructors emphasise discipline, respect, and teamwork, key values in karate.
Our Seniors program is open to teens and adults (13+), offering a challenging yet rewarding training experience. Whether you're new to karate or refining your skills, these classes focus on technique, fitness, and self-defence. Students train under the guidance of experienced instructors to improve their strength, coordination, and confidence.
